My Dearest,
You’re welcome for dinner. You’ll have to let me know if that is the best way we can serve you or if there’s anything more or different that would be more helpful.
Do you feel secure and deeply grounded in the Lord still? The Lord is working deep roots in you with everything going on in this very busy and taxing season. You’re doing great! I’m praying that you don’t grow weary of well doing and are able to do what is needed to abide in the Lord.
I know what you mean about skipping meals. I just don’t get enough calories some days and it’s frankly bad for everyone. Basic needs shouldn’t be this hard, but sometimes they are when the demands are high. So take a deep breath and try not to get too overwhelmed with what needs to be done. . . Make your list, and let Jesus show you what to work on and provide for that day’s calling. I tell the Engineer that very same thing.
Then you’ll get done exactly what needs to be done in that day. Your head can hit the pillow and you can say with the Lord, “It is finished.”
With regards to marriage, I’m praying specifically that you and J. would be able to enjoy something mutual together in the next week. Sharing a joke, a book one of you is reading, small gratitudes, the common pleasantries and simple joys that can be hard to find when life is hard. May God grant you attentiveness to God’s goodness toward and for you, and that your leaning into Jesus and walking in the Spirit would be contagious to your husband, children, and everyone around you. He who lives in you is greater than he who is in the world!
I’m proud of you, friend.
It moved my heart when you confessed your own sin when we prayed on Saturday. The Lord smiles on a broken and contrite heart. Keep forgiving, keep moving toward J. You won’t regret your obedience and acts of love as they are propelled by the Holy Spirit.
All my love,
Marcie
